Characters - Final Fantasy XII

Vaan Age: 17 Race: Hume Vaan is the main character, and the story is seen principally through his eyes. His curiosity and desire for freedom lead him to a dangerous battle against the Empire. His greatest dream is to become a Sky Pirate. Vaan's best friend (and maybe something more) is Penelo, and only later he'll learn to trust Ashe, Basch, Balthier and Fran. Basch Age: 36 Race: Hume Former Captain Basch von Ronsemburg of Dalmasca. He spent the last two years caged in the Nalbina dungeons, accused of having killed king Raminas of Dalmasca, allowing the Empire to take over his own country. After he's freed by Balthier, he has several arguments with Vaan, who accuses him of being responsible for the death of his brother Reks. Balthier Age: 22 Race: Hume A fascinating Sk y Pirate who defines himself as the "leading man" of the story . He may look a cold-hearted, greedy thief, but he's really a man of honor, who doesn't refuse to help others when they are in need. Fran Age: N/D (more than 50 years old) Race: Viera The only character that does not belong to the Hume race. She's Balthier's soul mate, and helps him in their adventure.She's skilled both in battle and in airships' mechanic. Ashe Age: 19 Race: Hume The voice was on the street that Ahelia B'nargin Dalmasca killed herself in order to not see Dalmasca invaded by the Empire. Today, she's a strong woman, often rude to others, who wills to give Dalmasca her freedom back. Penelo Age: 17 Race: Hume Penelo is Vaan's soul mate. They both lost their parents in war, and since then they lived together. She's always worried about Vaan. Living with him in Rabanastre's downtown made her a strong girl.
